Based between the UK and Spain, working worldwide, Carmen is a DOP with a human centered approach to camera work. She uses her camera and lighting skills to emphasize the intentions, relationships and power dynamics of the characters.

Carmen was born in Spain, where she studied Film and Advertising. She then moved to London and specialised with an MA in Cinematography. In the advertisement industry she has shot for brands such as Nintendo, Marie Claire, Dial, Pascual, Tik Tok or Yamaha Music.

During the past years, she has dived into the narrative world, shooting several short films, including the proof of concept ‘Return of the Beast from Outer Space’, which is now in pre-production to become a feature film. 'Dear Doctor ', another short film that she lensed, has screened in North America, the Middle East, and Europe and is now hosted on Nowness picks.

She has also shot ‘Skulk’, which was selected for the upcoming 57th edition of the Sitges film festival within the Official Fantastic in Competition section. It also premiered in USA in the renowned Screamfest LA festival. 

Her last short film, ‘Videoclub 2001’, is now on its festival run, distributed by selected films
